Crazy Pencil Art by Jennifer Maestre
These fun and frankly down right creative sculptures are made out of colorful pointy pencils. The artist, Jennifer Maestre, got her inspiration from none other than the spiny sea urchin. To make them she takes hundreds of pencils, cuts them into 1-inch sections, drills a hole in each section to turn them into beads, sharpens them all and then sews them together. The finished product is some wildly prickly sculptures influenced by nature.
You can even own your very own modest spiky urchin sculpture. Just visit her over in her etsy shop.
